THE POLITICAL THEATRE PLATFORM 2015

The Political Theatre Platform 2015 is a drama and education project which aims to archive, document and debate, through theatre performances and workshops, histories which are often marginalized within those systems which manufacture their own legitimating narratives in order to justify their alliance with a “convenient history”. We aim to reveal personal histories of those who are nowhere to be found in the textbooks, conferences, treaties and politically charged opinions which serve the grand narrative of the system adopting a single history, “the history of obedience” before the power structures.
The Political Theatre Platform 2015 will consist of: a forum-theatre workshop with the artists involved, coordinated by Norwegian artist Morten Bruun; a forum-theatre workshop with the students of “George Coșbuc” National Bilingual College in Bucharest; a political theatre season throughout 2015, made up of a series of performances dealing with issues of recent history which have been developed in the last years, two new performances and a national tour.
Access to all performances and events of The Political Theatre Platform 2015 is free of charge and all events include discussions with the audience. The project will be going on for 14 months.
The Political Theatre Platform 2015 is supported by a grant from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government.
