Mișa is an architect with some studies in urban planning, and an activist for education and housing rights. He has worked with children and youth from different social backgrounds, in various alternative education programmes. He is co-coordinator of IDEE magazine and co-founder of Quantic Group, a platform for projects centered on emancipatory education, housing rights, gender equality, environmental and social justice.

Ioana holds a BA in Journalism and Communication Sciences, from the University of Bucharest. She is co-initiator of Urban Collectors platform, where she coordinates street art and graffiti projects.

Ioana is a social researcher. She holds a Ph.D. from the Doctoral School of Sociology, University of Bucharest and Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (University Institute of Lisbon). She works in projects involving education for solidarity and social justice, as a member of Quantic Group; she has taught at the Sociology Faculty, University of Bucharest, and worked in various research and action projects, together with children and youth, starting from 2007. She is co-coordinator of IDEE – Ideas, Debate, Exchange, Education.

Mihaela Michailov is a playwright and performing arts critic, interested in participatory art, projects of social activism and visible heritage – work with evacuated communities. Her theatre plays are focused on questioning recent history, the system of children-like- slaves education in Romania, ethnic and sexual discrimination, migration. She is interested in oral history theatre and in the dramaturgy of personal stories. She coordinated play-writing workshops with teenagers. She believes in a political theatre for the young audience. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Anthropology.
She is teaching assistant (TA) at the National University of Theatre and Film, Bucharest. She hopes to complete her dissertation some day – Representations of the Radical Body in Contemporary Performance.

Laura is a literary translator and Ph.D. candidate in cultural studies with a thesis on gendered representations in realist-socialist art. She works in various projects that aim to build an intersectional local feminist perspective, in arts and education.

Mona is a freelance graphic designer with a history and arts background. She has spent a great many summers on various archaeological sites as an archaeologist and professional drawer. She has been passionately interested since forever in ceramics, photography and culinary anthropology, from botanical, ecological and sustainable perspectives. This latter interest materialized in the project Forgotten Herbs. She coordinates graphic art and applied botanics workshops, and she is involved in creating a Historical Garden that aims to collect, preserve and share various species of edible plants, with a traceable local history, that have been gradually abandoned and forgotten by contemporary culture. She wishes to take the research further and to educate the public on the diversity of edible plants.

Veda Popovici (b. 1986) works as a political artist, engaged theoretician and local activist. Her interests permeate these fields of action focusing on interventions in the politics of representation of collective identities, decolonial and feminist practices and the possibilities of creating the common. Her political work develops on local urban struggles and communitarian organizing of life and work. Recently, she finished her PhD thesis on nationalism in Romanian art of the 70s and 80s and held a course on decoloniality in the Romanian context, both at the National University of Arts in Bucharest. She lives and works in Bucharest.

As it happens, I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bucharest in 2008, with a major in English and a minor in Dutch. Without really knowing how or why I did it. The inertia, doubled by a sad familiarity with American cultural references after a childhood overdose of Cartoon Network and Law & Order, carried me further to an MA in American Cultural Studies at the same faculty. Post MA-partum depression, start freelance teaching in order to return to first (or second) crush of youth, history (specifically, of state socialism) in the form of another MA, at Central European University in Budapest. Got into volunteering in the meantime (Active Watch, Militia Spirituala), as an outlet for incipient left-wing tendencies. Accepted to MA (yey, living in a dorm with 500 people from all over the world, avoiding responsibility for one more year). Go to classes and do archival research at said MA. Write MA thesis, have multiple nervous breakdowns in the process. Graduate in 2012 (thesis entitled “Instances of the Romanian ‘People’s Democracy” State in ‘May 1st’ Oil Equipment Enterprise in Ploiesti (1948-1953): Ideology and Practices”), come back to Bucharest to do corporate work for lack of any other perspective. Rejoin friends, plan a political art gazette. Apply to various PhD programs and wait.

Ionuț Sociu is the author of various short stories and translations that have appeared regularly in cultural magazines and collective anthologies. Between 2010 -2012 he studied at European College of Liberal Arts from Berlin.
